There they go...

Well, we finally did it: We sold our alpacas.

I posted them on Craigslist for $100 each and boy did they get attention at that price! (alpacas usually sell for waaay more) Two people immediately said they wanted them and then a few more people wanted more info on them. One guy that I talked to on the phone about them wanted to breed them to his female llamas! No we did not let him have them. :)

One lady from Washington came and bought Lancelot B#3's alpaca and then a couple from Aumsville bought The other two, Valentino and Sundance. It was so sad loading them up; when alpacas are scared they make the most heart-wrenching sound, kind of a soft hum. You would just have to hear it. I have never been good at good-byes and we didn't want to have to sell them (I will admit that tears were shed) but we knew that they would be happy at their new homes.

Luckily we have lots of pictures of them and both owners said they would send us pictures of them in their new homes. Still, it was so hard watching them leave.
