Our dumb dog and brotherly love

The kids and Dad were playing one of our favorite games, Pit, on the living room floor and the dog got so excited with all of the yelling that he just had to do something.... So he decided it was a good time to chase his tail, which is something he does often, especially when dad is wrestling with the kids. :D

In the picture below B#7 is giving baby a kiss. He loves baby but doesn't necessarily love it when mom is holding the baby.

Connor David has arrived

I usually don't put names on my blog, but thought you might want to know what we named "baby". He didn't have a name for the first 20 hours or so of his little life but I don't think he will be scarred for life from it:) Anyway, we went to the birth center Friday morning and had a wonderful breakfast in a beautiful room, we walked the grounds, mom took a bath in a huge tub and we swung in a swing in the sunshine while waiting for baby to come. A good friend of the family loaned us her laptop so Dad was able to watch a movie on and off through out the day. Things were kind of slow going so we asked them to break my water which they did around 5ish. Connor didn't come as quickly as other babies had, deciding to be a bit stubborn and wait for about 2 1/2 hours. He weighed in at 8lbs 9 ozs which is big for our babies, good thing he came two weeks early:) Anyway below are some photos....enjoy.

The nursery...isn't the new rocking chair beautiful? and so comfortable to nurse and rock in. Friends and family chipped in to help us buy it. Day 2

Baby Update

I had hoped to get around to posting pictures of the nursery and our new rocking chair but haven't done it but I did want to at least give an update on baby....we are headed in to the birth center at 8:30 in the morning to be induced. So we are praying to have a baby by afternoon, Lord willing. Keep us in your prayers and we will let you know how everything goes.

Pookie

Some random pics of "pookie" from B#4's camera

Hats

No baby yet....no name yet either so that is probably good. B#2 has been knitting away in anticipation of baby arriving. A good friend came over recently to teach her to knit with these strange little double point needles that you have to use 3 or 4 of to make these hats. I think it all looks rather complicated but it sure turns out cute baby hats.

Found them

When I did the post of the new room for B#7 I had wanted to start out with pictures of the room when it was still purple but couldn't find them on my camera. Well I found them. I just hadn't gone back far enough since the project had been going on for a couple of weeks so I wanted to share them with you here. Some how it is hard to appreciate the difference until you see what we started with.
And of course now that I would like to add one of the pictures of the finished room I find that I deleted them already. So if you need to see a comparison you will have to go back and read the post on the new room. Sorry:(

A Pounding

When my good friend Priscilla started talking to me about giving me a baby shower I started realizing that I really didn't need much in the way of baby clothes since baby is a boy so we started talking about the needs of a large family(guess that is us) and I told her that one of the things I felt I needed help with was getting a pantry stocked and organized. Amongst some of our friends, when people get married they are given a "pounding", meaning they are pounded with food to help them get started. So Priscilla and I thought that would be a good way to get our pantry started and organized. I know it sounds like a silly thing but I really had questions...where do you keep it all, how much should we have on hand, how do you keep from just plowing through it and ending up back where you started? Anyway, these are things I got to ask at my "pounding". We had to use three cars to bring it all home(I didn't take the big van) and it was all piled up for DH to see when he got home from work. We had a great time and we are so appreciative of our church family and friends for all that they gave to us. We also received some money to put towards a new rocking chair for baby's nursery.
