An Excuse and a Brag

Excuses first.....every time I go to blog something my computer won't let me see the pictures from my camera card so I would have no idea what pictures I want to add. I personally don't like to blog without pictures. They show so much more than words. So until I can figure out what the problem is my blogging will be limited.

Now to brag a bit on my man...since I don't have pictures anyway....He had to work on Valentines Day. I went to our church Valentines Banquet alone. Now before you feel sorry for me,  my reasoning was that I could have a nice meal, without anyone sitting on my lap or grabbing my food and fellowship with people from my church family and still get a Valentines dinner out with my hubby in a day or two. It was a nice night but I was definitely missing my hubby. The next day I stayed home from church with B#11 who has a cold(again). Hubby calls on his way home and tells me I have 10 minutes to get ready, he is taking me out for lunch. That sounds nice and I am excited to go out to lunch but he has more of a surprise waiting in his truck...all of my favorite things...strawberries, chocolate, Dark chocolate Milano cookies and Biscoff cookies. We have a ways to go for lunch so he brought along treats for me till lunch. Lunch was great. Who wouldn't love Salmon?? And I so appreciated that he had planned all of this in advance.

Ain't love grand?

Seven Basic Needs of a Husband

These seven basic needs are taken from an Institute in Basic Life Principles booklet. There is also one for the 7 basic needs of a wife but since my job is to focus on the needs of my husband, that is what I have been reading and *trying* to focus on lately.

1. A husband needs a wife who respects him as a man
2 .A husband needs a wife who accepts him as a leader and believes in his God-given responsibilities.
3. A husband needs a wife who will continue to develop inward and outward beauty.
4. A husband needs a wife who can lovingly appeal to him when he is going beyond his limitations and who can wisely respond to those who questions his ideas, goals, or motives.
5. A husband needs quality time to be alone with the Lord.
6. A husband needs a wife who is grateful for all he has done and is doing for her.
7. A husband needs a wife who will be praised by other people for her character and her good works.

There is so much more to this booklet than what I have written here and I certainly have a long way to go to meet the needs of my husband but this should be the desire of our hearts for our marriages, to meet our husbands needs and to honor the Lord while doing it.

The Marriage Conference

Dear Hubby and I had a nice treat from an anonymous donor....a weekend away at a marriage conference. Now don't go getting all worried that we are having marital difficulties:) It was actually offered to all of our church's deacons and wives and our two pastors and their wives. The first day got off to a rough start as we hit downtown rush hour traffic. It took us about two hours to go what should have taken about 30 minutes. The Lord is so good though, the baby slept or played quietly in his car seat the whole time. Once we got there and got settled in to our room we were able to join the conference which was already going on. We missed alot the first day but some friends of ours that went got us caught up that night. The next day we were able to be in there the whole time except for little bits out with baby. It was a really good conference and I would love to go to it again to get the whole thing in. It was put on by Noble Call Ministries. Maybe you would like to go to one to strengthen you marriage. Check them out at www.noblecall.org. May the Lord bless each one of your marriages.
